CT Dose calculations for individual patients - what you should know
Elly Castellano
Royal Marsden Hospital,
Fulham Road, London
Abstract
CT dosimetry tools are not designed for calculation of individual patient doses, yet physicists are often required to make such estimates. This talk presents an analysis of how best to approach individual dose calculation and the errors that are likely to be incurred. The parameters considered are: CT scanner characterization, the scan projection radiograph, scan range, patient size, overranging, scan parameters and tube current modulation.
